Hall of Thanes
The resting place of the dwarven monarchs lies beneath Ironforge. Someone broke in. This is the Alliance's first dungeon and the counterpart to Ragefire Chasm.
What's going on here
The Hall of Thanes is the burial hall of Ironforge's kings. It has been sealed for generations, until something, probably Dark Iron dwarves, forced a way in. It is an Alliance story: Horde groups have to sneak or fight their way into Ironforge to reach the entrance, which makes it the natural first dungeon for Alliance Outfit members and a rare adventure for the Horde ones.
Getting there
The entrance is beneath Ironforge in Dun Morogh. Alliance players can walk in from the capital. Horde groups need to reach Dun Morogh by way of the Wetlands or Loch Modan and expect guards.
Recommended group
One tank, one healer, three damage dealers. Bring at least one interrupt and one crowd-control option.
Bosses
The launch build lists four encounters in the Hall of Thanes. Blizzard has not published their names; The Outfit will add boss notes as our groups clear it.
Outfit tips
- This is a level 13 dungeon tuned for fresh characters: it is fine to run it in quest greens with any role mix.
- Pick up the Ironforge quests before you go in; the dungeon has its own quest chain.
- Dark Iron casters hit hard for the level. Kill them first.
- Horde players: travel with a group and Shadowmeld or Stealth helps at the entrance.
